Packaging of Refurbished Laptops and Computers – How Do We Do It?
Despite the continuous growth of the e-commerce market, many customers still – and rightly so – have concerns about the condition in which their package will arrive. Here, we’re not talking about the aesthetic value of the ordered device, but rather the potential damage acquired during shipping.
Ordered items, especially consumer electronics such as laptops, desktop computers, tablets, and monitors, are highly vulnerable to various types of shipping damage – from dents and broken cases to cracked screens or leaked displays. While for new electronics, manufacturers make efforts to minimize transport damage, and many stores use external distribution centers with professional packaging methods, the situation is different for used electronics.
In this article, I want to show you how we at Xlap24 ensure the safe packaging of refurbished laptops, desktop computers, and accessories. As of the writing of this article, looking back at the last 1,000 shipped computers, we’ve recorded just one case of damage during shipping, and it was a 27-inch All-In-One computer weighing over 20 kg. Analyzing shipments of refurbished laptops and computers, which make up the majority of our shipments, we did not receive any transport damage reports for the last 1,000 units sent.
Good Packaging – What Does It Really Mean?
What should good packaging be like? How do you define it properly? How do you make packaging convenient? How do you make sure it’s not troublesome for the customer? These are some of the questions we asked ourselves many times before our packaging reached its current form.
We Only Use Professional Filling Solutions
First and foremost – our packaging is simply durable. Thick cardboard and special, dedicated filling ensure safe transportation, both to the customer and back in case of returns.
In today's times, package safety is not the only thing that matters. Xlap24 places particular emphasis on two additional aspects – the convenience of unpacking and waste disposal, and thus environmental protection. We strive to pack each of our shipments so that customers don’t have to fight through piles of tape and plastic or vacuum their room of styrofoam bits and other debris that sellers often use as packing material.
Our packaging is clean, aesthetic, contains only the necessary amount of filling, and can be opened quickly. What about after opening? What should you do with the filling, which can sometimes take up an entire medium-sized waste bin? Our filling fits in the palm of your hand. Specially selected inflatable filling secures laptops during shipping and, once deflated, takes up minimal space. For desktop computers or monitors, we use bubble wrap, with the amount carefully chosen to provide maximum safety during transport while keeping disposal as convenient as possible.
The Amount of Waste from Our Filler Fits in Your Hand
Xlap24 ensures that each refurbished laptop, computer, and accessory reaches our customers in pristine condition. At the same time, we care about the aesthetic quality of the packaging, ease of opening the shipment, and minimizing the issue of a large amount of packaging waste.
How Is It Packaged?
1. The laptop is thoroughly cleaned, and all stickers, dirt, or dust are removed.
2. The laptop is wrapped in special protective filling.
3. The laptop, accessories, and documents are packed in a sturdy, new box.
4. The contents of the package are labeled with warning stickers and tape with our logo to ensure that no one opens your shipment before you do.
5. Finally, we attach the shipping label. It’s worth mentioning – every shipment is insured!
6. The package is ready for its journey!
